El Colorado Ski Center is a cone-shaped peak with wide-open fields. It sits between Valle Nevado and La Parva and is closest to the Chilean capital, Santiago. El Colorado is an older resort popular with beginners and intermediates, although advanced skiers love the resort’s eastern side, which receives huge dumps of snow, and the steep chutes that face Valle Nevado. Visitors may purchase an interconnect ticket with the two other resorts.
El Colorado has two villages: Villa Farellones and Villa Colorado. Farellones is older, larger, more traditional and less expensive. Colorado is modern, with a hotel and several condo buidings. Less expensive lodging can be found in Santiago.
All services are located in one central building known as "El Parado." You'll find a reservation desk for accommodations, ticket window, ski and snowboard rentals, ski shops, lockers, ski school (adults and kids), cafeteria, the "KL" Pub, "El Alambique" and "El Mirador" restaurants, and the "Del Sol" terrace barbecue.
The 2,500 acres of skiable terrain feature trails for all ability levels (beginners have the most at 51 percent), and 18 lifts to get you around the mountain. Off-piste skiing, as well as a tubing park, are available.
Snowboarding is available on the mountain. Ski school classes and equipment rental are available.
