This was our first time skiing with our family of 10 and I can say for all of us we will be coming again! The instructors are amazing, particularly Mary who was just incredible! We all had the best time. The team are great.
Fantastic for beginners

Another excellent week in Andorra. Lost one day skiing as luggage didn’t make the flight. Visited Pas for a little Christmas shopping instead. Pistes in good condition with a decent covering. About 75% of runs open. Love the runs from the top down to Soldeu, El Tartar and Canillo. Weather fantastic but did tend to get a bit slushy in the afternoons though. Support from Andorra Travel Service first class, they feel like family rather than a Travel company.
Great early season skiing, coverage good on the pistes

All 4 main resorts in the Grandvalira area are all exposed to the elements. Went skiing for 6 days and majority of the main lifts were shut for at least 3 of them due to high winds. Trying to ski to one resort to the next is very difficult as well due to a poor lift system (You are forever on lifts rather than skiing!). We went early March the snow conditions we unbearable by the afternoon due to slush.
Cheap
Exposed / Poor Lift System / Hot

Badly developed slopes. Red are frequently like blue. Black are like red. Sometimes red like black. And on the blue slopes there is a lot of places where you need to go by hands. Because they are going up.. Crazy. Big lines are not managed. Although funicamp sometimes late and you get in big line. And you can not enjoy first ride with big amount if people. Food.... It is super horrible. Not tasty and all the time you need to fight for the place to sit inside. ... I wish i will find here anything.. Also one day was too windy and without any view. And slopes and lifts were not closed And i think slopes are badly retracked..

The ski school is terrible. We booked my daughter for the 'snow garden' which they describe on their website as 'a gentle and enjoyable introduction to skiing and the snow, with activities and games designed especially for young children. There were no activities or games. The poor children sat on a bench from 9.30-10.30 doing absolutely nothing. When they went on the slopes (10.30-12.15), there were 11 children (aged under 5) per instructor so they just waited and waited for their turn. They basically went down about 3 metres once or twice as all their time was spent waiting. I felt so sorry not only for my daughter but all the children who just had to spend all morning waiting with nothing to do.

I was privileged to spend a late season week at Grandvalira during March of this year. It was my first foray to a European resort, and I loved it. I found it to be an easy laid back adventure. There are runs for all abilities. As a newbie to skiing, I'm mostly a green/blue kinda guy. I really enjoyed the red runs as a way to test my growing skills. By the week's end, I was getting more and more comfortable venturing down a couple of easy blacks. I based myself in the El Tarter sector with the lifts within walking distance (a couple of blocks) of my hotel. Great private instructors. Awesome facilities. Would I go back again? FOR SURE. Only drawback was the drive up from Barcelona in my rental car, but it was an adventure in itself. Definitely recommend Grandvalira for great skiing in Andorra.
laid back, varied runs
drive from Barcelona

Seems to be a good resort. However after spending €50 for a day ski lift pass I injured my knees on the first run of the day. I went straight to the ticket office within an hour of buying my pass and using one lift. I asked for a partial refund down to the €12 euro non-skier padestrian pass so I could sit in the restaurant on the slope while my wife and family continued to ski. The ticket office refused and said they wouldn't do anything. I would have been happy with a little back or maybe a credit to use in the restaurant. Pretty ruthless trading practices considering the huge numbers of people using the slopes and the price of passes. Don't buy all your passes in advance or multiple days if you can avoid it as you then have the choice to go to other resorts and if you injure yourself they wont give you any credit for unused days!
nice resort
Expensive, No Refunds for injury!!

it's my 2nd year here and I'd come back again but probably looking for self-catering as the hotel food for this year and last was bland or killed with garlic, the local food eateries try a little harder to make good food but their customer service sucks (I can only point out that they don't tolerate English so much, I'm not a teen piss head just a dad on holiday with his lad.). The slopes are what I'll come back for.
great for boarding most levels. cheap booze.
locals barely tolerate your presence, French hang around the top of the lifts like its a good idea to impede everyone getting off the lifts.
