Overview

On a sunny terrace overlooking Lake Constance (Bodensee) and nestled among the rolling hills of Appenzell Vorderland lies the holiday and health resort, Heiden (810m above sea level and 400m. above Lake Constance). Back in the 19th century Heiden became a regular haunt of guests seeking a change of air, relaxation and convalesence, largely owing to its discovery by the world renowned Berlin eye specialist, Prof. Dr. Albrecht von Graefe und Dr. Heinrich Frenkel, the founder of movement therapy - both of whom played a major role in enhanclng Heiden's reputation as a health resort worldwide.
