UK (Change)An ideal beginner resort oozing Tyrolean charm and voted the most beatiful village in Austria by Austrians themselves in 1983. The village's 2500 year history has not been compromised by modern development, which includes an excellent indoor pool complex. Inneralpbach is linked to skiing of Alpbach, 4km (2.5 miles) away, it is a quiet, ideal beginner resort.
Alpbach's snow park, which opened for the '96 - '97 season, includes an intermediate standard half pipe, the longest 40 metres long. Otherwise 'boarders will find plenty of natural terrain features to enjoy, including some excellent long red cruises and off-piste powder routes. Although the village nursery slopes are drag lift driven, the eight-passenger gondola serves main mountain terrain, including additional altitude blues for the less confident has a lot going for it.
The resort is served by three airports: Innsbruck (50 km), Salzburg (150 km), and Munich (150km). There are a number of local taxis available to transport you to the area from the airports.
A variety of accommodations ranging from 4-star and 3-star hotels, inns, farmhouses and private accommodations to holiday apartments to suit every pocketbook and need are available. Most accommodation is family owned and run so you won't find any large hotel complexes.
