Sugar Mountain, North Carolina is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains about 30 minutes southwest of Boone, NC, less than 2 hours from Ashville, NC and just about 30 minutes south of nearby Beech Mountain. The largest ski resort in North Carolina, Sugar Mountain resides at a base and summit elevation of 4,100 ft. and 5,300 ft. high respectively, featuring 125 acres of skiable terrain across 21 trails.

The ski area boasts 100% snowmaking and a steepest run, Whoopdeedoo, at a pitch of 48 degrees. Not to worry, about half the mountain is perfect for intermediate skiers and riders, and Sugar Mountain also offers up plenty of terrain for beginners, along with a terrain park, snowshoeing, tubing and ice skating.
