Red Mountain Resort is one of the oldest and most famous ski resorts in Canada. It was the site of the first World Cup race in the nation and the location of the Canadian Downhill Championships. Olympic gold medalists Kerrin Lee-Gartner and Nancy Greene are among Red Resort's famous ski racers. Red offers two peaks, 1,596 acres, and 2,900 vertical feet of all-natural snow and an additional 4,000 acres just outside the resort boundary. You will find terrain covered with an abundance of the light, dry powder the Monashee Mountains are known for, and perfectly spaced trees that protect the snow for days after it's fallen. Choose from wide-open groomed slopes or tree runs with untouched powder. Whether you're a beginner or expert, Red is a welcome retreat from the scene at over-crowded resorts.
There are three lodges with 60 rooms on-site; additional 12 lodges with 200 rooms within eight miles and luxury slopeside condo's at the base of Red Resort
A shuttle service (set schedule) will take you to and from Rossland (5 min. away from Red Resort). Ski rental, repair, lessons, rental lockers and childcare available. You will find a terrain park, beginner area with carpet, the Red Express, a 15-passenger shuttle service to/from the Spokane Airport, lounge, boutique, cafeteria in the base area and Paradise lodge found at the top of Granite mountain.
The most talked about Terrain Park in the Kootenay's was professionally designed by Jeff Patterson. Red has provided boarders and skiers with enough jumps, rails, tabletops, spines and rollers to keep them busy all season. Caters to boarders of all abilities.
