While I appreciate the fact that off piste areas are vast they aren’t particularly interesting because you have to go around ice surfaces and the glacier, and around the stones here and there . There’s one nice area for snowboarders if you go right from the Jochstock. But many areas are just long traverses with not very long runs down .
Good guides
Too much icy surfaces

You can go freeriding pretty much everywhere. Nice and friendly customer service and just all of it is beautifull. Amazing Powder conditions and just overall very nice. Greetings from Sweden.

I really enjoyed my stay at Engelberg. It is not too expensive and the views are amazing. With the skipass, you have access to all the pistes and also the Gletscher, which was a stunning place to discover. You don't run (ski) into a lot of inexpierienced skiërs.
Very good for advanced skiërs. Also very nice Off-piste tracks but you need to have had an initiation and be prepared for avalanches.
Not very nice when you are a beginner. Not a lot of beginner pistes.
Mr ski
Something for everyone, and special hat off to the swedish after-ski-band- Acousoft, playin 2 times a day at Hotel Hoheneck!!! They were AWSOME and made everybody feel great! The staff at the Hotel were the best and the skiing up on Titlis fabulous! Can´t wait to get back;) The blue slopes are much harder than usually- so mabye not for beginners....

I just came back from a great week in this powderheaven:) Came in with great expectations and this place fullfilled them all! 4 perfect sunny days, split up with 2 days of 20cm new powdersnow made the offpiste amazing. The mixed terrain made for all experiencelevels was a good teacher for my snowboard and offpiste experience(medium). You can have it all here, from vertical drops in deep powder to the less steep, but awsome mountainsides in untouched powder. Some of the places are avalancheprone, so take precations and listen to locals and the avalanche/snow-reports. The only nag for my part, is the lifts and all the asian tourists that fill up the lower lifts and gondol to the top - all the time taking pictures and taking up skiiers space, but you can avoid the 2 gondols to the top by taking the chairlifts from 1'st stop, as they dont go there.
Offpiste and powder for all experiencelevels
Bottleneck and asian tourists at lowest lifts

It took me a while to get used to Engelberg. First impressions are that it was all tight and steep pistes, often icy, not great for beginners and always crowded. But once you know where to go then there is plenty of space and off-piste options and you start to realise why it has a reputation as a freeride paradise! Careful on the glacier - there have been a few deaths over the last few years thanks to this and some avalanches. You need to know what you are doing and I would recommend a guide if you are new to the resort.
Awesome off piste vertical
Bottle-neck gondola station at base
