    If it aint broke, don't fix it

    Pros: Steeps, peeps and the beach

    Cons: vertical drop, chairlifts

    The Basin is a legend that doesn't require all the bells and whistles of gondolas, and fancy lodges. If you ski this mountain, chances are that you are there for the terrain.... Full review

    No frills; it's all about the snow

    Pros: challenging runs, nice snow

    Cons: lousy rental equipment, cafeteria

    Pros: open in June!!

    Cons: rustic (if that's a con...)

    We made a spur of the moment trip to Arapahoe Basin as an end of school year surprise for my kids. We weren't sure if there would actually be snow or not,... Full review
