Silver Mountain sits on the Bitterroot Range in the heart of Idaho's mining country, in the panhandle of Northern Idaho. There are two separate mountains: Kellogg and Wardner Peaks. There is one of the longest eight-person gondolas in the world, churning up 2,200 vertical feet to the Mountain Haus.

    favorite spokane-area mountain

    Pros: Powder thursdays, good tree skiing, long runs, spread out mountain, rarely lift lines
    Cons: no high speed lifts, little attention devoted to the skiing aspect

    The Silver Sliver

    Pros: Number of Trails and Glades
    Cons: Gray skies, rundown lodge, rude operators

    Best bang for your buck

    Pros: Great snow, right off of I-90, excelent terrain, friendly staff, inbounds hiking areas
    Cons: Slow lifts, doesnt flow well when the bottom is closed

    Great family resort

    Pros: most times great sno, no lines,
    Cons: none (well it dont snow every day LOL)
