Red Lodge Mountain, located in Montana's Beartooth Range, is a must visit for skiers and snowboarders of all ages and ability levels. Their 1600 acres of skiable terrain caters to all abilities, the people are friendly, and the scenery rivals the bigger ski resorts in the state. The trails a spread out over 17% beginner, 45% intermediate and 38% advanced terrain, serviced by 1 High-Speed Detachable Quad, 3 Doubles, 1 Triple and a magic carpet. Being a few minutes away from the bustling mountain town of Red Lodge is a bonus, too, and a stop in the legendary Snow Creek Saloon for aprés ski is a must.

My first resort

Pros: Gentle learning curve, Terrain for all types, family friendly
Cons: Not much in terms of nightlife after it closes, could have better terrain park
