Snow Reporter Comments

Please Note: Midweek Season Passes are now valid every day, including weekends, for the remainder of the season starting today!

Shake it up! That’s the theme today with the Pinkham Notch snowglobe being rattled again. We picked up 1-2 inches of new snow yesterday and early morning snow showers are delivering another lovely coating of fresh out there. We’re looking at about an inch of accumulation during the day as it will surely feel like winter out there on this twenty-eighth of March. There’s still tons of snow on the mountain and looking at the forecast, it won’t be going anywhere anytime soon. That means we’re still on track for running til May and you’ve got plenty of opportunities to join us before this season comes to a close. As for Attitash, it’s a big weekend down in the valley with the Spring Mania Pond Skim happening at Bear Peak around noon, WXGR brings an awesome radio station promo and Motor Booty Affair takes the stage to funkatize Ptarmigan’s Pub this afternoon. Attitash’s season is scheduled to end on Sunday, April 5 so go and check them out before their lifts stop spinning. DJ MCO Productions will be bringing the après this afternoon so you’ll have some live entertainment if you plan on kicking it in the Wildcat Pub for a bit. We’ve got some sweet deals coming your way too. Kids 6-18 pay their age every Sunday for the remainder of the season, April Fool’s Day $9 lift tickets on Wednesday and another $40 Friday coming your way on April 3. Oh yeah, all of you who have Midweek Season Passes can now use them weekends for the rest of the season as well. We want you all to join us for what should be an awesome final month of a season!

Today we have 4 lifts scheduled to run from 8:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m., providing access to 49 trails, 225 acres of terrain and 16 miles of slope. 27 trails were machine groomed overnight with freshly fallen snow on top. Conditions to start the day will consist of machine groomed packed powder surfaces along with packed powder on the ungroomed terrain. Off the groomed trail consists of a variable mix of powder, packed powder, hard pack, thin cover, hidden and exposed hazards. It’s actually skiing really well for this time of year and you can have quite a bit of fun in the bumps and trees. Yesterday’s layer of heavier snow injected new life in the mountain. Today’s covering seems a bit lighter so it’ll provide some nice winter ambience. It’s going to be a great day out there so dress appropriately for cooler temperatures. Always use caution and stay smart out there on the trails or in the woods. Trail conditions will change throughout the day with skier traffic so stay alert. Skis starting to stick to the snow? Head on in to the Wildcat Tune shop and they’ll slap on the right wax and you’ll be back to cruising right along. Edges feeling a little dull? They’ll sharpen those babies right up! They also have pairs of Rossignol High-Performance Demo’s still for sale so check those out today and get on some new gear.

The forecast is calling for snow showers during the day with highs in the upper 20s, cloudy skies and light to moderate north winds. Tomorrow the sun looks to shine with temps breaking into the 30’s so even though it’s going to be a cooler weekend, conditions will be awesome. Dress right and get out there to enjoy a great day on the mountain!
