This my home mountain and I love it. I moved away because some winters in Ruidoso give it the name Ruinosnow. When the snow is good this mountain is a blast. When it is a dry winter it is not worth the drive(3000 ft of two lane swichbacks no guardrail). This place is fun and has a cool gandola. The management is a native owned corporation and is lacking in ski area management skills. Things like snowmaking, facilities, food, and lodging are all below par. But as for sliding on snow with sticks tied to your feet this mountain has it. Ruidoso is about a 30 minute drive down but it is where the nearest lodging and nightlife are to be found. There are Casinos, bars, and resturaunts to your hearts content.
