Scotland is experiencing heavy snowfall and blizzard conditions today.

The BBC has issued a weather warning for Scotland today: "Snow accumulations of 10cm to 20cm are expected above 400m, At lower altitudes early rainfall will turn to snow, leaving accumlations of up to 8cm above 100m and slushy deposits to sea level."

Nevis Range, The Lecht, Cairngorm, Glenshee and Glencoe all remain closed today due to the heavy snow and strong winds.

Yesterday, Glencoe Mountain released a statement saying: "Around 10cm of snow has fallen today at the car park with probably twice that much on the mountain. Hurricane force winds mean we will be closed for snowsports tomorrow (Tuesday). We expect to find much improved conditions when the wind dies down enough for us to access the hill."

Tomorrow (Jan. 4), there will be lighter snow showers with glimpses of sun and good visibility. Winds will average 40-55mph. Light snow is expected to continue on and off all week.
