The new First Tracks Hostel opened earlier this winter at Panorama Mountain Village. The hostel, located in the upper village, provides lodging for skiers and snowboarders at a budget price.

The non-smoking hostel is now the closest slopeside lodge to the Mile 1 Quad-hence the name "First Tracks." Its prime location can put you first on the lift at 9 a.m. for fresh powder or corduroy.

Private rooms at the hostel come with varying bed configurations, and contrary to most hostels, all of the rooms have private bathrooms. Linens and bedding are provided.

A double room with one queen bed that sleeps two people costs $29 CAD per night. Hostel rooms equipped with two twin beds can sleep two people for $39 CAD per night. Rooms with two queen beds that can sleep up to four people cost $49 CAD per night. 

The First Tracks Hostel also includes a shared common area, and wireless Internet is available. Those staying at the hostel also get access to the Panorama Springs Pools, which includes hot pools, saunas, and a heated outdoor swimming pool. The hostel's location also puts it within walking distance of restaurants and shopping. Guests at the hostel can save 10 percent on lift tickets by purchasing tickets in advance with lodging.
