It's hard to pick the perfect ski trip. Should you ski deep powder at Jackson? Watch the Northern Lights dance across the sky at Alyeska? Or explore North America's first major ski resort? Here at OnTheSnow we argue about trips all the time. With a limited amount of time away from our desks, we search for the perfect way to spend it. We don't always agree and usually the debate spills over into a post-work happy hour beer. But one thing is consistent: we all love to ski and North America is a playground for skiers of all ability levels and desires.

So after much deliberation, a few heated arguments and endless hours of work, we've whittled down the season's best 16 trips. They won't please everyone, but that's okay. The goal's to get out there and explore. Because everyone needs an adventure.
