Enjoy a free Mountain Tour every day at Steamboat. Meet at the Mountain Tour sign at the top of Vagabond at 10:30 a.m. each day, for a tour from a Steamboat Ambassador. Free snowshoe tours are offered at 1 p.m., meeting at the base of the gondola.

Skiing with Olympic legend Billy Kidd is also free. On certain days, Billy meets at the top of the Why Not run at 1 p.m. to take a run down Heavenly Daze. Check the sign at the top of the gondola to see if Billy is skiing that day.

A huge treat at Steamboat is the historic hot springs pools. The Old Town Hot Springs is downtown, at 3rd and Lincoln, and perfect for everyone in the family. Soak your weary bones after a day on the slopes in the healing mineral waters. Enjoy the two waterslides every afternoon from 4 to 8 p.m. Just outside of town are the Strawberry Park Hot Springs, which are built into the side of the mountain, along the river. You'll need to arrange a shuttle service to take you there.

A couple of inexpensive activities are ice skating at the Olympic-sized Howelsen ice Arena. Visit the Tread of Pioneers Museum and learn all about the history of the Steamboat Springs area. Try tubing at Howelsen Hill or Saddleback Ranch.

Enjoy the First Friday Art Walk through the streets of downtown Steamboat. It's every first Friday of the month, from 5 to 8 p.m.
