Where . . . Calshot Activities Centre, Southampton
What . . . Calshot is one of the largest outdoor adventure centres in Britain. The snow sports section features three slopes covered in snowflex, a new surface with no holes, for easy skiing and are served by lifts. The main slope is 143 metres long and there are two beginners' slopes.
Group courses, private lessons, and recreational skiing is available to all levels of skier and snowboarder. There are also family ski courses, freestyle skiing courses, and evening events.
The ski slopes are available for recreational skiing and snowboarding every Wednesday 7-9:45 p.m. More extensive ski slope opening times are available September to March.
Other activities . . . A fully licensed bar at the bottom of the slopes. Non-skiing activities include sailing, windsurfing, canoeing, powerboating, rock climbing, and track cycling.
Price . . . Recreational skiing costs £10 per person.
