What . . . The main slope is 330 metres long and 80 metres wide. Real snow is created at mild temperature of -1 degrees Celsius. For beginners and children there is a 90 by 40-metre practise slope with a gentle 10-percent gradient. There is also a blue slope of 17 percent descent and a red slope with 31 percent descent.
The 6000-square-metre freestyle area with funpark features plenty of obstacles for the more advanced riders, including boxes, jibs, rails, and jumps.
The ski school offers lessons for all levels including intensive private courses or group sessions. Telemark courses are also available. A range of ski gear and clothes is available to rent in all sizes (€5 skis/snowboard and boots).
Alpincenter Hamburg-Wittenburg is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. seven days a week, 365 days a year.
Non-Skiing Activities . . . Snowtubing takes place on a 60-metre track with a decline of 12 percent. Outside activities include quad-biking, go-karting, water skiing, the Hire Wire Garden, and adventure playground.
Food/Shops . . . The Intersport shop sells the latest ski and snowboard fashion and gear. There is a wide choice of bars and eateries onsite as well as the Van der Valk hotel.
Prices . . . A two-hour ski pass costs €19 adults and €13 children (Mon-Thurs); €17 adults and €21 children (Fri-Sun). All-inclusive tickets are also available with ski pass, meals, ski equipment rental, and entrance to the go-karting track, quad-biking, and High Wire Garden.
