Where . . . Skidôme, Rucphen, The Netherlands

What . . . Skidôme's real snow slope stretches 160 metres long and 25 metres across. The main slope proves popular with both skiers and snowboarders of all levels. It is served by a draglift and there are various obstacles for more advanced skiers like rails and ramps. There is a separate practice slope for beginners, also served by a draglift. Ski school for groups is available for skiers up to 18 years old. A one-hour lesson is €13.50. Snow camps take place in the summer months for skiers/snowboarders aged 10 to 18 years, and includes a minimum of eight hours' on the slopes, lodging, meals, and non-skiing activities.

The slopes are open 12 p.m. to 22:30 p.m. (Mon-Fri); 12 p.m. to 10 p.m. (Sat.) and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. (Sun).

Non-Skiing Activities . . . Sledding takes place every Wednesday and Sunday (March to Sept) for children aged between 4 and 12. There's also a crèche and professional entertainment for the younger guests.

Food/Shops . . . The café-restaurant ‘The Dutch Alp' serves snacks and drinks. The complex also has a ski shop and a tourist agency.

Price . . . One-hour pass €13 adults; €11 children. Sledding is €5 per hour.
