Skiers and riders have celebrated all season long, with epic snow days, and plenty of powder to delight any powderhound. Now the days are longer and the sun is shining even more, making for stellar spring conditions. Many resorts have extended their closing dates due to so much snow. Purgatory at Durango, Wolf Creek, and Monarch Mountain have pushed their closing dates back a week. Purgatory, along with Buttermilk, Steamboat, Sunlight, and Telluride all close April 6. Aspen Highlands also closes April 6, but will reopen for the last two weekends in April. Aspen, Beaver Creek, Copper, Crested Butte, Keystone, Monarch, Snowmass, and Winter Park close April 13. Wolf Creek stays open weekends only after that through April. Howelsen (in Steamboat), Powderhorn, Ski Copper, and SolVista all close March 30. Other resorts' closings depend on the snow conditions: Eldora (mid-April), Arapahoe Basin (early June), Echo Mountain (May 3), Loveland (early May), and Silverton (June 15). This has been one of the best snow years in Colorado skiing history. Grab the boards and sunscreen and enjoy the end of the season.
