Eldora Mountain Resort opened Friday, Nov. 19 marking the eighth ski area to crank up chairlifts in Colorado. Eldora is running four lifts accessing seven trails with 15 percent beginning and 20 percent intermediate terrain available for skiing and riding.
The recent snowstorms that have moved into the Front Range Mountains of Colorado have brought an abundance of new snow to Eldora including 16 inches in just over a 24-hour period. Cold winter conditions have allowed for snowmaking operations to run full-force and capitalize on the natural snow.
"This has been one of the best opening day conditions in many years," Eldora's Rob Linde told OnTheSnow. "This week's storm coupled with cold temperatures has made the difference."
Eldora's SnowSports School, equipment rentals, and food and beverage are all up and running. Take advantage of early season lift ticket prices at $51 for Adult Full-day, $24 Junior Full-day (ages 6-15), $36 Senior (ages 65-74), $8 for 5 and under, and 75 and older.
The Eldora Nordic Center is also open offering 15 kilometers of cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Early season Nordic trail pass prices are $16 for Adult, $12 Junior Full-day (ages 6-15), $12 Senior (ages 65-69), $3 for 5 and under, and 75 and older.
Continued snowfall is in the forecast for Eldora, so make the trip to Boulder's home ski resort.
