Dinner couldn't be better when you get there on a horse-drawn sleigh ride through the mountains. Sleigh rides are now available in Keystone, and it's all because the resort has received so much snow. The sleigh rides started early this year.
Keystone's Ryan Whaley says you'll wind your way through a snow-covered valley to the back of Keystone Ranch, to a yurt at an old ranch homestead, where you'll get a down-home dinner with Western-style cooking, some cowboy entertainment, and campfires. "The fact that you actually get a couple of miles out of the resort, and get into nature where sometimes you'll see wildlife, is so unique. You'll ride past a lake, and one of the tributaries of the Snake River. It's peaceful and relaxing."
It's also great for families and groups, he says. "The kids love it. They love to experience the horses, and they get to pet them." Ranch hands say the horses love carrots and the kids are welcome to bring them.
Dinner options are available, such as chicken, steak, smoked ribs, or vegetarian. Other treats include corn bread muffins, and homemade apple pie.
Make your reservations in advance. The cost is $85 for adults and $45 for kids ages 4-12. The price is $10 for children ages three and under. Wagon rides are also available in the summer at Keystone.
