With an adaption of the old adage, "the family that plays together, stays together," Lutsen Mountain is hosting Family Festival the weekend of Feb. 4-6.
Special lodging packages for a complete family vacation including lift tickets and ski rentals are available. The weekend features a family Olympics race, sleigh rides, snowshoe tours, bonfire and marshmallow roast, and fireworks. Cloud Cult, who covers the spectrum of indie-rock, electronic, folk, and classical music, will be performing in Papa Charlie's Nightclub Saturday night. It's the best nightclub scene north of the Twin Cities.
Lutsen's $99 Weekends, four people to a room for two nights and two days of skiing, is available all season long in limited numbers nightly. The price is per person based on quad occupancy. A new lift and lodging package for this season is 3for2 Weekends. Spend three nights over the weekend, and one night is free. Follow the link below to book a reservation or for more information.
Lutsen Mountains has close to 100 runs that plunge off four mountain peaks. Arguably, it offers some of the best skiing and riding found around the Great Lakes Region. Overlooking Lake Superior's north shore, the scenery is truly spectacular. The 90-minute drive from Duluth along the rocky, rugged coastline reminds one of driving along the Maine seacoast near Bar Harbor.
