Those skiers and riders in Arizona or southern New Mexico who can get away on a weekday may find Sunrise Park Resort just the ticket.
Management at the eastern Arizona mountain has rolled out a number of ski school, rental, and lift ticket deals for visitors who prefer to hit the slopes hard Monday through Friday, and to rest on the weekends.
One deal has season pass-holders at the mountain outside Greer assigned a ski or snowboard instructor for themselves during half-a-day of personal attention and all-mountain carving.
The half-day offer cost $100, regardless whether for an individual or a group of people. A private lesson typically costs $83 an hour. Each three-hour session begins either at 9 a.m. or 12:30 p.m. Reservations can be made or more information found by calling 800-772-7669 ext. 2306.
A second offer is a discount on a pair of lift tickets on Tuesdays. The purchase of a full-day ticket, regularly priced at $49, means a second ticket goes of half price.
Thursday is Ladies Day at Sunrise, meaning the resort takes $10 off every full-day ticket purchased by a woman.
The Sunrise rental shop gets into the midweek rate-cutting with $5 off all one-day equipment packages for skiers or snowboarders.
Other features at tribal-owned resort include night skiing Feb. 19 and Feb. 26, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. for $16 to $22, depending upon age.
