The big event of the season here is the 10th SnOwpenAir Concert on 31st March for which Grindelwald has secured the return of their biggest star to date, Bryan Adams, who played the 2004 gig. Adams reportedly skied down to Lauberhorn after the concert and said he's d like to come back. The concert is the highest open-air concert in the snow at 2061metres above sea level. The full day event kicks off at 11am with Adams due on stage as the après ski scene gathers pace at 3.30pm. Special packages for this event are available through Grindelwald Tourism.
"We're putting on a very special SnowpenAir programme for our 10th anniversary," says Urs Kessler, Head of Marketing and Operations at Jungfrau Railways and "spiritual father" of the SnowpenAir Concert. "We're going to hold two concerts this time: the traditional SnowpenAir on Saturday and a programme tailor-made for families on Sunday, at a family-friendly price and with free admission for children (aged up to 15) accompanied by an adult."
