White Pass Still Waiting

The ski area has experienced an increase of 36 percent in visits over the past four years and the so-called Hogback Basin proposal calls for the addition of several chairlifts and a mid-mountain lodge. Operators are asking for the public's support of the proposal through a letter and email campaign. "White Pass believes (the public) will agree there is a need for more diverse skiing and snowboarding opportunities, and a need to provide additional terrain to reduce skier and snowboarder density within the existing ski area," says a company spokesperson.
