The new joint ticket for Solden and Obergurgl, which is valid between five and 14 days, is not fully interchangeable, but allows buyers based in one resort a single day skiing in the other resort during its period of validity. It's the first time a joint ticket has been offered since the demise of the Otztal Arena pass in the late 1980s. Both resorts are known for their "snowsurety," thanks to the high altitude of their ski areas. Solden has two glacier ski areas and was formerly open 365 days a year, although it now closes for about six weeks from mid-May to late June.
