The best college ski racers from around the country competed in giant slalom and slalom for individual and team honors. When the snow, and wind, settled on Saturday Dartmouth College emerged as the new national champion. They beat second place Denver by 50 points while last year's champions, University of Colorado, finished third. Other New England schools in the top ten were the University of Vermont in fifth place and Middlebury tied with New Mexico for sixth. Hosts UNH finished in the eleventh spot. This was Dartmouth's third national title and the first since 1976. The last championship Eastern team was Vermont in 1994.
