Ken Leavitt, former owner of Powder Ridge, said that Peak Resorts is talking about coming in to set the ski area on the road to recovery.
Tim Boyd, president of Peak Resorts, flatly denied the assertion. Peak Resorts operates 11 ski areas around the country.
Leavitt, who operated Powder Ridge until it closed before last season, told the Middletown Press that plans to pull the property out of bankruptcy include an updated ski area, time shares, and a ski lodge with amenities such as a spa, a pool, and an exercise and fitness area.
Leavitt said at least $7 million will be needed and told the Press that Peak Resorts is willing to make a substantial investment toward Powder Ridge.
Boyd, however, told OnTheSnow, that Peak Resorts has no such plans.
