It's been the pre-season kick-off for Chicagoland skiers and snowboarders for the past five decades. The Chicago Ski & Snowboard Show celebrates its 50th show this year Nov. 7-9. Ski Dazzle 2008, billed as the Midwest's largest ski and snowboard consumer show, once again will be taking place at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.

Early exhibitor sign-ups include resorts from Canada, California, Colorado, Idaho, Illinois, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Utah, Vermont, Wisconsin, and Wyoming; a full smorgasbord for any Heartland snowsports enthusiast.

Shanty Creek is the official lift ticket sponsor this year, and each adult attendee will receive a free $50 lift ticket to the Creek to be used during the 2008-09 season. Boyne Mountain is sponsoring a giant ski school ramp where you can  get a free ski lesson at the show, and Camp Sagawau Nordic will be providing free cross-country lessons. Other activities include a climbing wall, action videos and games, and a live BMX stunt show. The Chicago Metropolitan Ski Council will be putting on two live auction events.

Great shopping opportunities abound with over $2 million worth of ski and snowboard gear available at the show, and many ski and snowboard retail shops will be offering show packages and pre-holiday bargains.

Ski Dazzle exhibitors call it, "A party with a purpose." It reminds us the upcoming season is just around the corner, and it's time to check the equipment and get ready for some fun.
