Get Snowcat Deal At Targhee

Snowcat tours continue at Grand Targhee. Snowcat tours continue at Grand Targhee.

Skiing at the base of the Grand Teton is grand indeed. But catskiing down through fresh uncut powder at the base of the Grand is even better.

Grand Targhee is once again offering their popular early season ski and lodging package that includes a free snowcat adventure. Their reputation for early snow usually makes this package a viable option.

The package includes lift tickets for three days plus one day of cat skiing. Snowcat skiing on Peaked Mountain yields 1,000 acres with average runs totaling 2,000 vertical. Two snowcats per day run 12 skiers each to the top of the mountain where north-facing bowls and glades spread out the tracks. This winter, skiers can experience 10 new runs accessed only via the snowcat. A day's vertical usually chalks up 14,000 to 20,000 feet.

Skiers and riders must be at least at intermediate levels and able to link turns in all conditions. They should also be comfortable in trees and adept at avoiding natural obstacles.

The package also includes three nights of lodging in Teewinot Lodge. The lodge features larger hotel rooms decorated in rustic luxury and equipped with flat screen TVs. One large indoor hot tub also sits in the hotel complex.

Per person rates begin at $396, based on double occupancy. The package is only available this winter from the opening of the season, which is projected for Nov. 22, through Dec. 21. Call (800) 827-4433 for reservations.
