Got art talent? If so, you may be able win a free pair of skis with your design on them.

Genuine Guide Gear, based in North Vancouver, B.C., invites designers and artists to enter a contest to invent the graphics for a new topsheet on a G3 ski. The contest is open to both professionals and aspiring artists - anyone with a creative idea for the look on a ski.

"Ski graphics have become a genuinely exciting art form," says G3 President Oliver Steffen. "We want to give artists and designers all over a chance to show what kind of original and eye catching designs they can come up with."

The deadline for entries is Jan. 1, after which judges will select the top 20 entries to be showcased on the contest Web site and at the Coldsmoke Powder Festival in Nelson, B.C. Judges will select three finalists, who will talk about themselves and their designs in a video. The design winner will be announced at the festival on Feb. 20.

"We believe that skiing is a form of creativity," says Steffen, "and the design and look of skis is part of that creativity."
