The gift-giving season is fast approaching, and Crested Butte is handing some nifty presents for those skiers and snowboarders planning an early-winter sojourn in their neck of the Rockies.

Check out the resort's Spend the Holiday in Crested Butte promotion. The fifth night is on the house for visitors who book four nights' accommodations between Dec. 26 and Jan. 3 . Lodging options range from ski-in/ski-out properties and base-area residences, with floor plans ranging from hotel suites to four-bedroom condominiums.

With this offer, guests can save between $265 and $1,138, depending on lodging option, and everyone gets up to 20 percent off on equipment rentals and lift tickets.

An even better option would be to come to Crested Butte before Christmas and pay only $40 per person per night for a slopeside two-bedroom condo. This offer is good between Dec. 18-25.

Getting to Crested Butte has been made a bit easier with the addition of Delta Airlines' daily nonstop flights from Salt Lake City to Gunnison, the airport that services resort. Any skier or snowboarder who flies Delta into Gunnison will receive a free lift ticket for every night booked through Crested Butte Vacations, which can set you up at The Grand Lodge for as little as $71 per night per person.
