Sugarbush Celebrates 50th With Memory Lane Stroll

Cruising at Sugarbush. Cruising at Sugarbush.

Sugarbush, aka Mascara Mountain, kicks off its 50th season with a weekend of nostalgia.

Resort owner Win Smith will host festivities, centered at Lincoln Peak Village in Warren, Vt., Dec. 12-14.

They include a special run of the Park Avenue Sugarbus Special, the ‘70s era of disco dancing, the Vogue-inspired ski fashions of the times, and the Wunderbar world of après ski.

The weekend also will include a retro après-ski party and a gala birthday celebration, a torchlight parade and fireworks display. Attire is "Vermont Black," meaning everything from bowties to blue jeans.

Smith encourages retro wear, and will award a 2009-10 season pass to the person with the best vintage outfit.

There much, much more.
