The southern hemisphere's only dedicated freestyle terrain park, Snow Park NZ, has announced that it will apply for consent to build a NZ$15million gondola in the Cardrona Valley.
Guests to Snow Park currently have to take an untarred access road to visit Snow Park. The proposal would mean over a thousand skiers and boarders an hour could be transported to the park and the current car park could be used to develop more terrain.
It will also allow for further development of the proposed Roaring Meg ski resort dedicated to beginner and intermediate terrain. Snow Park hopes to eventually use wind power and make themselves a fully carcon neutral resort.
