Bogus Honors Pioneers

The first ever JR Simplot Legacy Award was given to none other than JR Simplot, a visionary philanthropist who's demonstrated great support for the 65-year-old ski and snowboarding area. Simplot was key in helping the then financially strapped resort in the early 1950s. Bogus also awarded Bill Everts the Bill Everts Lifetime Service Award. Everts was the area's general manager in its early years and exemplified selflessness by giving time, talent, and expertise to the fledgling hill. Both awards will be given out annually to those who best demonstrate the attributes of these two pioneering men.
