Can't wait, won't wait until December to hit the slopes? A select few ski resorts in the Alps are kicking off their ski seasonsin November with pre-season savings on lift tickets and accommodation, free 2015 gear testing, and cool opening parties and concerts. 


Les 2 Alpes opens Nov. 29

Early ski deal: The week-long First Ride package costs from €307 per person.  It includes a hotel or apartment accommodation with a six-day ski pass, access to the swimming pool and ice rink in the town centre, and two days’ skiing in neighbouring Alpe d’Huez. Package available Nov. 29 to Dec. 20.

Tignes & Val d’Isere opens Nov. 29

Early ski deal: The First Tracks package in Espace Killy includes two nights’ accommodation, a two-day ski pass, free entry to the aqua leisure swimming pool, free 2014 gear testing, and free live entertainment for €109 pp in an apartment; €188 in a hotel. Package available Nov. 29 to Dec. 19.

Val Thorens opens Nov. 22

Early ski deal: The Ski Force Winter Tour  package includes  2 nights’ accommodation, a Val Thorens ski pass and free access to ski testing for €94pp in apartment; €212pp in hotel. Package available Nov. 22-23. The Ski Force Winter Tour (Nov. 22-23) offers the chance to test the new models from top ski manufacturers for free and benefit from professional advice. Ski brands attending include Armada, Atomic, Black Crows, Blizzard, Dynastar, Elan, Head, K2, Line, Movement, Nordica, Rossignol, Salomon, Scott and Volkl. Similarly the Rock On Snowboard Tour arrives in Val Tho (Nov. 29-30) with free tests of more than 30 top brands.


Obergurgl opens Nov. 13

Early ski deal: The Winter Opening Special package includes 2-7 nights’ accommodation, an Obergurgl-Hochgurgl ski pass and event pass to the Winter Palace. Prices start from €194 and the package runs Nov. 3-30. The fun-filled opening programme features a musical hut rally at the mountain bars and opening parties at the Winter Palace.

Zell am See-Kaprun is already open!

Early ski deal: The Glacier Snow Ok package includes 7 days’ accommodation with half-board, a six-day ski pass and six-day ski rental priced from €575. The deal is available until Nov. 28. The glacier currently has 10 lifts open and a healthy snow depth of 190cm.

Kitzbuehel opens Oct. 31

Early ski deal: From today Kitzbuehel is kicking off a daily ski service with a discounted lift tickets. The Resterhoehe-Special  lift ticket costs €31.50 adults; €16 youths; 10 kids. It gives access to the Resterhöhe 6-seater chairlift, Panoramabahn Kitzbüheler Alpen cable car and Resterkogel 4-seater chairlift. The resort is one of the first non-glacier resorts to kick off the season and skiers have already enjoyed the weekend of Oct. 25-26 on the slopes, thanks to the healthy early snowfall.

Ischgl opens Nov. 27

Early ski deal: James Blunt is signed up to kick off the winter season in Ischgl this year. He will present his latest album Moon Landing at the world-famous Top of the Mountain Concert on Nov. 29 – entry to which is free with a valid ski pass (€60 for daily ski pass or €88 for a two-day ski pass).


Davos-Klosters opens Nov. 14

Early ski deal: The Lift Pass For Free deal gives early-season skiers a free lift ticket for every night spent in the resort.  One night’s accommodation with breakfast and lift pass starts at €67 per person. The pre-season promotion runs Nov. 14 to Dec. 21.
