The French ski train begins again from 19th December, 2014 to 11th April, 2015. Hop on the Eurostar ski train at St Pancras International or Ashford International and be whisked direct at 186mph to Bourg St. Maurice in the French Alps giving you great access to top ski resorts like Courchevel, La Plagne, Tignes, Meribel and Les Arcs, all a short coach ride from the train station. The direct French ski train begins at £149, but certain dates are excluded.

Travel tip: If you travel on the direct night train to the French Alps both ways, you'll get two extra days on your skis. You'll arrive on Saturday morning and leave on Saturday evening, having the slopes to yourself on changeover day.

New for this season: Eurostar's Swiss service's final stop will be Geneva, giving great access to the French and Swiss Alps. The service will run Monday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday every week beginning 14th December.

Eurostar allows an extra item of luggage per passenger, such as a pair of skis or a snowboard. That’s on top of the usual maximum of 2 medium-sized cases (85cm at their longest length), plus one item of hand luggage. Once on board, there's a reserved area in each carriage specifically for your large luggage, so you won’t have to struggle to make everything fit.
