Widespread snowfall has been reported across Europe this week, with particularly heavy dumps in the Italian/French Milky Way resorts of Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Claviere and Montgenevre where more than a metre of snow was recorded in 24 hours. There is plenty of great powder skiing to be found in France, Austria, Switzerland and Italy at present. As for the Pyrenees, the snow hasn’t stopped falling all week, and the powder is just piling up in Andorra where they’ve seen 180cm in the last 7 days.
The French Alps saw around 1.5 metres of snow at the end of last week, transforming skiing conditions for numerous resorts. See full 7-day snow report for France.
Current conditions are great for the vast majority of the French alpine resorts. You’ll find some of the best skiing in Chamonix (50-200cm), Flaine (160-250cm), Avoriaz (230-280cm), Les Gets (100-200cm), Val d’Isere (115-190cm), La Rosiere 1850 (115-190cm), Alpe d’Huez (110-185cm) and Val Thorens (120-170cm). France 3-day snow forecast: This weekend is expected to be mostly sunny with a few light snow flurries (5-10cm) for resorts in the Vosges region.
Austrian ski resorts have been receiving regular snowfalls over the last 10 days and temperatures have remained below freezing, making for great conditions on the slopes. See full 7-day snow report for Austria.

Austria 3-day snow forecast: The snow clouds are expected to move back over Austria, particularly in the east, toward the end of the weekend and early next week bringing 20-30cm.
Italian ski resorts have had the heaviest snow dumps this week, particularly in the Milky Way resorts where 140cm of snow fell on Wednesday/Thursday for Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Cesana and Claviere. See full 7-day snow report for Italy.
Skiing conditions are vastly improved with plenty of powder for freeriders. Some of the best skiing can currently be found in Sestriere (100-140cm), Sauze d’Oulx (100-140cm), Cervinia (100-275cm), Bardonecchia (60-140cm), Livigno (54-160cm), La Thuile (50-150cm), and Madonna di Campiglio (60-170cm). Italy 3-day snow forecast: Some light snow (5-14cm) is expected over the next few days in the Abruzzo region.

Switzerland 3-day snow forecast: Only very light snow is forecast (up to 5cm) so visibility should be good to enjoy all the fresh snow over the past week.
There’s been no end to the snow in Andorra this week, powder is just piling up! Soldeu for example, has reported a huge 180cm of snow in the last 7 days. Skiing is great no matter which resort you choose – they all have massive amounts of fresh snow: Grandvalira (100-160cm), Vallnord/Arcalis (155-215cm) and Vallnord/Pal-Arinsal (100-125cm). The snowfalls are expected to stop by Sunday but more snow clouds are moving in next week.
Bulgarian resorts have had some moderate-to-light snow this week and conditions are good at both Bansko (60-1205cm) and Borovets (125-165cm). More snow (5-10cm) is expected at the beginning of next week.
