Ski Test 2015/2016 kicked off March 2, 2015, returning to Snowbird, Utah a third consecutive year for three days of lapping some of the best terrain in the Rockies. And our timing's never been better, with Mother Nature deciding to bless this test with 26 inches of fresh snow throughout for hands down the best conditions we've skied all season... not to mention in the history of this event.
Our test team of 18 consisted of 10 men and 8 women who hopped on close to 120 different pairs of skis across four categories broken out by waist width and terrain type: Frontside, All-Mountain Front, All-Mountain Back and Powder. Each ski is given a one-run shot to impress testers, who pick apart its performance in terms of carving, stability, playfulness, float and versatility criteria on a 1–5 scale. This year, testers also considered the skier profile/type of skier who would have their best day on the ski in question.
Grueling as it is getting on upwards of 20 pairs per day in the most ambitious cases, ski testing really is as fun as it sounds. To make matters even more cush, seven sponsors swooped in to keep testers warm, comfortable and looking great, fed, quenched, protected and rocking out. We couldn't have done it without:
> Kits by Eider
> Boots by Bogs
> Bluetooth headphones by Jaybird
> Beer by Bud Light
> Helmets & Goggles by Bollé
> Socks by Descente
> Beanies by Chaos Headwear
> Snacks by Frontier Bites
