It’s been sunny skies and mild temperatures across the Alps and Pyrenees this week. The spring conditions have softened lower pistes and the best skiing can be found at high altitude, particularly north-facing slopes. But the great news is more snow is on the way this weekend.
Where’s the best skiing in the Alps right now? The best conditions right now can be found at Val Thorens (125-210cm), Avoriaz (150-300cm), Morzine (45-300cm), Saalbach-Hinterglemm, St. Anton (45-250cm), Lech-Zuers (85-215cm), Obertauern (150-200cm), Murren (66-200cm), Engelberg (30-340cm) and Davos-Klosters (56-171cm).
Where’s the best skiing in the Pyrenees right now? Despite the strong sunshine and warm temperatures this week, all Andorrran ski resorts are still in great shape thanks to the February snow storms: Vallnord/Arcalis (180-285cm), Vallnord/Pal-Arinsal (160-185cm) and Grandvalira (140-210cm). And in the French Pyrenees, base depths are still above 3 metres in Cauterets and Bareges/La Mongie (160/340cm).
