The Telegraph Ski and Snowboard Show will showcase the very best of the 2016/2017 winter ski season during the October half term.
Returning to Battersea Park, the event will be jam-packed with treats, including appearances from some of the most exciting freestyle talent strutting their stuff on Mount Battersea; the very latest ski gear from the top brands; industry experts to help you improve your ski technique; an ice skating rink complete with gliding penguins; a pop-up ice lounge and bar; and authentic alpine street food including delicious schnitzels, tartiflette and chocolate crepes. It’s set to be bigger and better than ever before so sit back and let us guide you through the bits.
The London Ride
The OnTheSnow team are most excited about the return of The London Ride Freestyle Competition where professional riders will show off their incredible skills on a 50ft snow kicker. UK Olympians James Woods, Murray Buchan and James Machon have all competed in the event. Watching riders spin in the air never fails to impress us and it’s always exciting to see fresh talent.
World-Class Food & Drinks at The Lodge
The Lodge is a very swish pop up restaurant for which celebrated chef and Michelin star owner, Angela Hartnett, has developed a tantalizing menu of Alpine street food. A Maître D' will greet you at the entrance and show you to your table where you’ll enjoy a sumptuous three-course meal with a view of The Slope. Highlights include freshly made crepes, delicious German Bratwurst or traditional Austrian Tiroler Gröstl – yum!
A meal at The Lodge doesn’t come cheap at £75 a head but it does include entry to the show, a glass of champagne, and a luxury goodie bag. We’re suckers for goodie bags . . .
Altitude Comedy Festival
The Altitude Comedy Tent will be rocking with laughter again this year.
The Altitude Comedy Festival made its debut last year, bringing a unique blend of snow, laughs and stand up to The Telegraph Ski & Snowboard Show with performances from top acts including Live at the Apollo's Marcus Brigstocke, and Andrew Maxwell, rising stars and blistering cabaret.
This year acts include Amy Howerska, Glenn Wool, Andrew Maxwell and Tom Houghton.
