Forget the slopes and get me to the spa! Sometimes we all need a spot of head-to-toe pampering. Whether it’s a massage to release tired muscles and promote natural healing or expertly performed facials which return a fresh glowing appearance to the skin, a spot of self-indulgence can do wonders.

Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa, Soldeu, Andorra
Mention Andorra skiing to most people and they’ll give a shrug of indifference but the perception of this duty-free principality is changing: Andorra has recently overtaken Switzerland as the UK’s fourth favourite ski destination.
The five-star Sport Hotel Hermitage & Spa is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World group and is home to the Sport Wellness Mountain: a mega-spa spread over five floors, each with its own theme. On the ground floor, the gorgeous spa area and water circuit has multiple swimming pools heated at different temperatures, a pebble walk-way and a wide pool with hydrotherapy jets, underwater massage and two open-air hydrotherapy bathtubs. The other areas are dedicated to beauty and health, relaxation through hydrotherapy and purification and toning up by humid and dry heat.
The spa features original work of celebrated Gironian artist, Domènec Fita. Throughout the spa you can enjoy pictures, serigraphs, wood and crystal sculptures which were created exclusively for the spa.
The spa has a Hammam, Laconium (similar to, but less intense than a traditional sauna), Roman Bath and Vichy rain shower. Two restaurants and an exclusive sport and wellness spa complete the guest experience.

Cheval Blanc, Courchevel, France
Located deep in the heart of the 3 valleys, with direct ski-in-ski-out access, Cheval Blanc is one of France’s most luxurious and exclusive hotels and its spa is the epitome of pure indulgence.
The spa has collaborated with Guerlain to create treatments specifically with winter sports in mind. It has treatments mixing anti-ageing facials with massages for spent skiers and therapies using Guerlain's Orchidée Impériale line. The treatments are the result of more than a decade of research in Guerlain’s Orchidarium. Each one is entirely bespoke and therapists will consult with you first to ensure that they address any concerns. They can also recommend signature treatments such as the Blanc Imperial, which uses cold and hot compresses to regenerate and reoxygenate tissues to replenish and repair the skin, and the extremely popular After The Snow, which leaves skin ultra-hydrated. The spa includes a state-of-the-art Technogym fitness centre and private aquabiking and, if that wasn’t enough, pilates sessions are available as an alternative to a hard day’s skiing.

The Kulm Hotel, St. Moritz, Switzerland
The Kulm Hotel is the oldest hotel in St. Moritz but that is no bad thing. As the old adage goes, if it ain’t broke don’t fix it. Of course, a bit of investment never goes amiss, and in 2012, the hotel invested generously in a spa. The result? A fabulous spa which faces St. Moritz Lake and the majestic alpine peaks which surround the town.
Facilities at the spa are plentiful and include a Finnish sauna, steam bath, salt grotto, relaxation room and indoor pool with underwater music. In addition there’s a small outdoor pool where you can soak as you take in the wonderful view of the surrounding mountains.
On offer currently at the spa is the multiple award-winning haki method, which was selected as 'Best Signature Treatment' at the European Health and Spa Awards 2015. The concept combines physical as well as mental relaxation in a comprehensive whole-body therapeutic approach. The treatment teaches guests simple exercises, which they can practise solo to maximise the effects, bringing the body renewed energy and peace of mind.
