The Snowmass gondola is for kids at the Treehouse Adventure Center.

Aspen Resorts wants to get you to the Old Mining Town, with the entire family in tow. Kids ski and ride for free in March, if you book by Jan. 15. You must buy four days of skiing/riding with five nights of lodging to get the deal. It is for kids ages 7-12, who will then get to hit the slopes for free. The same deal applies to equipment rentals at Four-Mountain Sports.

The Aspen area offers four mountains: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk, and Snowmass.

The Family Zone at Snowmass has interactive kids' trails and the Treehouse Kids' Adventure Center. Buttermilk has some incredible terrain parks, and is also home to the Winter X Games. Kids ages 6 and under always ski and ride for free at the Aspen-area mountains.

March tends to be a month with amazing snow conditions and plenty of spring sunshine. It's hit and miss with the powder days but you're sure to find conditions at their peak. It is also spring break for many families.

You cannot book this deal online. You need to give central reservations a call and mention, "Kids Ski & Stay Free."  Aspen and Snowmass plan to open for the season Nov. 26. Buttermilk, and Aspen Highlands open Dec. 12.
