Has anyone ever done the Mad River Glen Triple Crown competition. I've never actually skied in Vermont but I'm planning on going up there end of February. I noticed they have their first event of the competition on Feb. 26th this year and that is around the time I want to venture up there. Basically I'm wondering what the terrain is like and how talented the competition is. I'm an advanced skier that has spent a lot of time skiing out west. I prefer the bumps any time they're available but enjoy jumping off stuff too. The competitors that usually go to this event, are they really good skiers that have had a lot of backcountry experience or mogul training? I've never had any formal coaching or training, is it worth a shot to enter or will I be wasting my time against a bunch of experts?
Also, in the Triple Crown description they mention that you jump off cliffs on the Lift Line. I can't down-play it because I've never been there, but cliffs sounds like a foreign thing to the East coast. Can anyone confirm what the expert terrain is like?
Thanks!
