Indianhead Is Discounting Lift Tickets To Help In Economy

With the bad economy and high gas prices putting a double whammy on snowsports enthusiasts who like to travel in the Heartland, Indianhead Mountain is offering some incentives to attract those people to their neighborhood of the Great Lakes.

"By purchasing lift tickets early, families can save more than enough money to offset increased gas prices for a family ski trip to our area," says Indianhead GM Barry Bolich. "We are offering some substantial discounts to give families a reason to come to the Western UP."

The resort is offering lift ticket discounts through Nov. 25 that allow you to purchase online a one-day adult lift ticket for $36 and three-day adult ticket for $80. Regular season prices will be respectively $46 and $128 for the same lift tickets. You also can purchase a two-day pre-Christmas lift ticket for $50 through Dec. 23. The equivalent ticket, purchased at the ski area, is $87. Visit the Indianhead Mountain Web site to purchase tickets prior to the above-mentioned dates.

All children, nine and under, ski and ride free with each paid adult, which helps make the family trip even better.

The really nice thing about going to Big Snow Country now is that not only do you save some money on lift tickets, but once there you can look forward to skiing and riding the increased terrain. Indianhead recently acquired the other two nearby ski resorts of Big Powderhorn and Blackjack. Between the three on weekends you will have over 80 runs to choose from on lots of varied terrain. It will be a smorgasbord, and all are within just minutes of each other. Blackjack will be open only on weekends. The other two resorts operate on a daily basis with some of the longest ski seasons in the Great Lakes region. Indianhead didn't close last season until the second week of April.
