Lovely classic french ski village, great access to slopes and whole portes du soliel area! good quick lifts and variation of slopes, really good for beginners and improving skiers! good red runs and mogul blacks Best for Feb skiing as can lack snow towards easter but access to avoriaz and morzine is really good so always access to snow higher up! fantastic bus links as part of lift pass! Been going last 4 year's and will always go, great atmosphere and really good for families, great chalet town
early opening lifts and friendly staff! goof snow quality and variation of green, blue, red and black runs! easy access from town to slopes from ski shops and good restaurants on slopes and for lunch, dinner after skiing. slopes really well maintained
Lacks snow early season - pre Christmas and late season Easter at lower levels

I spent the season 2013/14 living and working in this beautiful village. The ski area is fantastic with a wide variety of slopes to suit all skill levels, with the Grand Cry for the little ones, and Mont Chery for the more accomplished skier. The village itself is a beautiful, traditional French village. Make sure you bring your phrase book as the locals are still very French. If you're looking for a more English experience, head to Bar Bush, Bombay Ski Club or Le Boomerang. If you're looking for a night out, Igloo or Zebra are the two clubs in the village, but drinks are expensive so plan ahead. For a more family approach, there are some great family friendly restaurants serving French cuisine, such as Le Tyrol, and plenty of activities to keep them busy during the day too. As you can tell, I absolutely fell in love with this resort and it became a home from home for me, I hope it gives you the same experience!
Family friendly, welcoming locals, large variety of choice, suited for all skill levels.
Separated from Avoriaz ski area, not a big nightlife scene, fairly low down so snow conditions can be hit and miss.
Rip'nWud Skis held a free demo day at les gets and wanted to thank all of the personal that gave a hand to make the day perfect for our ski Demo day presentation. THANK YOU! However, we did have a VERY BAD Lunch experience with the HOTEL BELLEVUE which was located just next to where we held our Public ski Test. I personally received an omelette with chunks of jagged broken glass inside the Omelette, the biggest piece 3cm x 1cm. When i showed and mentioned the broken glass to the server, the server said, well that's your problem to bad for you... Even my test team and the people around us could not believe this guys response. WOW! Now thats FRENCH SERVICE! My day was almost a complete disaster because of some " _____" in the kitchen serving whatever to their clients. I strongly suggest that if anyone ever thinks about going into this place of so called service, please think twice. The HOTEL BELLEVUE does not deserve to have any clients come through their doors. they are very lucky I'm a calm guy. Thank you for the BAD Experience HOTEL BELLEVUE! HOTEL BELLEVUE, More reviews are coming your way.
the ski resort excellent
the restaurant experience VERY BAD.

Great place for everyone of all ski levels and ages. The accommodation is amazing such a variety in choice and price range. The scenery and skiing is simply incredible and relaxing. We stayed in Apartment Le Caribou (alpine pursuits) which was perfect because we were away from the centre of town, next to a ski lift and next to a Ski pass collection hut. Furthermore it was facing the piste so it was great for everyone after a hard day.
There is always something for everyone to do
Snow fall can vary
Well, we stayed here for a week (just back) and had a fantastic time. We stayed with Esprit in La Chaumiere and had a fantastic time. For our 2 boys (5 & 7) the combination of skiing with 'super-cool' Baptiste, Lucy's food and the comapny of Zoe in Snow Club will be forever hard to beat... for ourselves it was a holiday like no other... the slopes were great for the 2 of us coming back to skiing after 8 years of enforced purgatory!! The abundance of blues on the Chavane side to warm up the legs in the morning before moving onto the sweeping reds (and occasional blacks) was a great joy but the real 'secret' of Les Gets is the Mont Chery side... so much quieter than the main section but with a number of great reds (and a least one scary black!) to really work the legs on... and after all that a great place to stop in the shape of Le Grande Ourse for a bite to eat and a beer. If you are coming here for a wild week then this place might not be for you... but if you are looking for afamily break that is hard to beat...look no further...
Quiet town, good facilities, nice slopes
not ski to door - where we were!
Les Gets is a pleasant farming village, which has grown in to one of the world's top resorts apparently without noticing. Picturesque and relaxed, it has neither the sometimes oppressive enthusiasm for health and fitness that some of the high altitude French purpose built centres promote, nor the pre-occupation with glitz that attracts the soulless money-obsessed to others. Instead, it's charming, relaxed, and full of its own unique character and ambience. There's skiing on largely forested slopes on both sides of the valley. The resort's 'own' mountain Mont Chéry, served by a chair or gondola, offers terrain for all ability levels. It typifies one of the resort's major assets - the fact that you can take a mixed ability group to the top of the gondola or a chair lift and find runs for each ability level - advanced, intermediate and easy, which depart from the same point and meet again at the base. Tough skiing is rather limited locally so many powder hounds head towards the Swiss border area above Chatel and Avoriaz where guides can show you various exciting opportunities parallel to the famous Wall descent, if the snow is fresh. It’s an area with a reputation for avalanche however so don’t even dream of trying ruins like La Suisse and le Fornet without the services of a Guide. The local lift pass is valid on the lift of Les Gets and neighbouring Morzine. Many opt for the largely lift linked giant Portes du Soleil area however with 650km of trails shared between 12 resorts on each side of the French – Swiss border.
