The traditional and unspoilt mountain ski town of Les Gets is ready and waiting to be discovered. Located between Lake Geneva and Mont Blanc, right at the heart of the Portes du Soleil ski area, Les Gets, the authentic Savoyard mountain village welcomes visitors year round. The resort offers an extensive ski area with something to suit everyone, the young and the old, beginner to expert. With your skis on, you can ski from the village, exploring the forests and immense alpine meadows which lead on to the vast and magnificently beautiful Portes du Soleil ski area. The warm, hospitable locals pride themselves on offering a great level of service to visiting guests. Their welcome, along with the traditional setting of Les Gets all adds to making sure that tourists leave with a unique experience and ultimately with unforgettable memories. The Portes du Soleil ski area is considered to be one of the largest in the world and links 12 different ski resorts, both in France and Switzerland, the area has over 650 km of marked ski runs. For the new generation of winter sports lovers there are two different zones set aside for you. On one side, Mont Chery with its ‘Gliss District' made up of a series of obstacles, jumps and rails. On the Other side the ‘Chavannes' boarder cross course is accessible for all skiers and snowboarders, whatever their ability. If downhill skiing isn't for you, make use of the ski lifts to go hiking or escape the stressful world on snowshoes. You can also try out cross country skiing, paragliding or dog sledding to name but a few of the activities available in Les Gets. Certified “Family Plus Mountain” in France, Les Gets has been recognised for the efforts which are made to welcome and accommodate children; it is an ideal place to holiday with the family. The special kids ski area “Territoire du Grand Cry” which has a cowboys and Indians theme, the ice rink or the specialised child care facilities make Les Gets a little paradise for kids.
