The valley run back to Schlossalm is a tough run especially at the end of the day. Good amount of reds and testy blues but not much for low intermediates. Black B20 was easier than Red B18. The adjoining blue was a flat road and more of a French style green run.
Good amount of reds and testy bluex
Lack of apres ski bars in the town

A mid-December trip meant that only a few runs were open initially. Others opened later, but the weather was not favourable those days. Great infrastructure and efficient service. The ski bus to Dorfgastein was worth the trip.
A pretty village
No ares ski in the town other than hotel bars
Connected with the skiing area from Bad Gastein you have a really huge and interesting area with many slopes, lifts and huts. You can buy for the whole Gasteinertal one ski pass so you can change the areas, but each area is big and interesting enough for itself. Most of the slopes are red and blue. The mountains in this area are kind of soft in comparison to Sportgastein for example, and because of that I would recommend this area especially to families and to beginners but there are also many possibilities for advanced skiers especially beside the slopes. I also really liked the very long runs from the top to the valley which offers the skiing area. Skiing is very exciting in this area because the slopes are very bride, there are good snow conditions and the lifts are very modern. I stayed in my holiday in Bad Gastein so I can say nothing about the night life in Bad Hofgastein.
big area
soft mountains easy slopes
