Nice big area, the best downhill terrain for playing around on.
Ancient lifts, lack of resources.
Ok so it's a bit of a struggle to get to every so often and the facilities are not exactly comparable to European resorts however the terrain when there is a full cover, is. There are natural half and quarter pipes scattered around the resort and a plethera of lips and natural kickers to jib and throw yourself off. Even on a day when there was only the sunnyside and Butcharts open fun was had and in plenty. Glenshee is perhaps not what an alpine skier would think of as a great place to ski but as an experienced snowboarder having spent seven seasons abroad in Europe and Canada, it still brings a very large smile to my face when I role up to the carpark to see the lifts are running and the conditions are good knowing a fun day will be had.
